The House Judiciary Committee, held a five hour
hearing, to determine if there was sufficient valid evidence, to send a report to the full House, to begin impeachment hearings, against President George W.
Bush. The accusations include, presidential signing statements, which basically nullified the bills which had been signed into law by the President, the firing of nine U. S. Attorney Generals, the warrantless wiretapping of American citizens (to which the Congress recently passed a law, immunizing the tele-communications companies, which had performed such services at the behest of the Federal Government),
and other abuses of executive power by the Bush administration. Representative Dennis Kuchinich, read the Resolution on the floor of the House. House speaker
Nancy Pelosi, allowed the Resolution to go the committee for the hearing, she has said in the past that impeachment was off the table. She evidently wanted a record of the hearing, to be recorded in the Congressional Record, but you never know. There is really not enough time to complete impreachmment proceedings, before the end of the president's term. To be continued.
