Where is My Sunshine?

by mornin77 @ 2008-08-30 - 20:22:52

Has anybody seen my sunshine?
It seems that it has disappeared.
It makes me very sad, when it leaves.
I need my sunshine every day,
I don't care about the rain,
It's alright to have a few drops.
I just don't want my sunshine to hide.
I search and I search, but not a glimpse,
Of my favorite playmate, my sunshine friend.
So, if anyone has seen my sunshine around,
Please pass on, a message from me,
Come back soon and make me smile and smile,
For there is no one, like you, who makes my day.
Please return soon, color my very heart,
Sunshine happy, and radiant again.

The Importance Of!

by mornin77 @ 2008-08-27 - 13:46:16

But for the light of the sun,
There would be much darkness.
But for the sound of voices,
There would be no communication.
But for a true value system,
All would be amok.
But for the loyalty of friends,
There would be a lack of empathy.
But for the beauty of nature,
Life would be so colorless.
But for the love of family,
A lot of people, would be cold, unkind.
But for the love of God,
The entire world, would likely be lost.

Confirmation!

by mornin77 @ 2008-08-23 - 04:49:06

Believe it now!
CNN has just confirmed at about 12:45 a.m., that the choice is definitely Senator Joseph Biden as Vice-President, to compliment Senator Barack Obama.

Big News From U. S. Political Scene!

by mornin77 @ 2008-08-23 - 04:47:51

I think I was right! It is reported that the Secret Service has been
dispatched to Senator Joe Biden's home. There is also a chartered plane, which came, reportedly from Midway Airport in Illinois, which
landed at the Delaware Airport.
Also Senator Biden has been asked, to submit a list of his aides who could travel on the campaign plane to assist Senator Biden as he goes out to hold rallies. People who could be cleared immediately by the Secret Service.
In addition, they want contacts who could speak about Senator Biden's life, at any given point in time, from senator Biden.
The report is also that Senator Biden's collegues in the Senate, are saying, that from all indications, Senator Obama's choice will be Senator Biden as his running mate.
From flowers being sent to his home on Friday evening, to his family members coming over, on Friday evening, to Senator Evan Bayh, Governors Tim Kaine, and Bill Richardson, all being told by telephone, that they have not been chosen, and Hillary Clinton, never being vetted, all indications are that Senator Joseph Biden will be the vice-presidential choice.
Senator Biden is a Catholic, the working man's friend, hails from Scranton, Pennsylvania, is the least wealthiest man in the Senate, with reported net worth of minus three-hundred thousand dollars, and someone, who travels by train every day to Washington, D. C. from Delaware, is therefore a very good choice for the Obama campaign to have selected. By the way he is a bulldog debater, turn him loose, and his opponent won't know what hit him, unlike the low key way Joe Lieberman, handled Dick Cheney, during the 2004 campaign while running with John kerry.
Senator Biden is in charge of the Foreign Relations Committee, and recently was invited to Georgia by the President of Georgia, then came home and reported to Senator Obama what he found out, to help Senator Obama in his assessment of the situation.
So, we can't say absolutely, positively, it is Senator Biden, but the Secret Service does not visit a Senator's home for a party, at 12 o'clock at night, and so we say that, it is our thought that sometime this morning, all those who signed up for an early text message, as to who the Vice-President will be, should receive their answer before 9:00 a.m., this Saturaday morning, and at 3:00 p.m.. Eastern Standard Time, Senator Obama and Senator Biden will come out, in Springfield, Illinois, for an introduction of the Obama-Biden ticket to win in November on the Democratic side. You go guys! This is exciting. How amazing, that the word was held for so long, I have never seen anything like this in present times.
Oh yes, early word is that Senator McCain's choice for his running mate will be former Governor Mitt Romney. Senator McCain will make his announcement on his seventy second birthday, which I think is August 29. Let's get this show on the road, and get this party started.

News and Then Some!

by mornin77 @ 2008-08-22 - 06:09:23

Well here goes, I am going to go out on a limb, and say that Senator
Obama is going to chose Senator Joe Biden of Delaware, as his running mate. Did get a hint that Senator Biden has been acting as if he is going to be away from home for at least sixty days, now it could be a head fake as they say, but for my part, I think if it is Mr. Biden,
this is a good thing. They will make a good team, Biden is smart, articulate :o),and well versed in foreign affairs, which will be an asset to the team. Though I don't know why people were getting antsy, as Obama has three hundred advisors, every base will be covered.

*

Muhammud Ali, reportedly called Senator Obama's campaign and said that it was going to be such a great historical event at the convention, when Senator Obama makes his acceptence speech, he wanted to attend, especially since it was on the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous speech as well.

*

Senator McCain was asked by a radio interviewer, how many homes did he and his wife Cindy own. Senator McCain stumbled over the question and said he would have his staff get back to the interviewer. The answer it seems, is seven homes in three states. The Obama campaign quickly jumped all over the comment, more that McCain did not know or did not want to answer the question, to show that Mccain was totally out of touch with everday American people, with so many homes, and the nerve to call Obama elitist.

Up and Down News!

Poland and the United States signed an agreement, which would allow the U. S. to build a missile shield with Poland. Russia is very upset, because of the timing and their opposition to the shield all together.

Tropical Storm Fay is moving up the east coast of Florida, and has stalled dropping up to 30 inches of rain in some places. People had to be evacated using airboats. The storm may pick up steam after moving into the Atlantic, and revisit Florida as a hurricane on Thursday, according to reports.

*

Senator Joe Lieberman, Mr. Independent, will be speaking at the Republican Convention, in September. Hopefully Senator McCain will win the election, because Senator Lieberman, will probably not be caucusing with the Democrats during the next session of Congress.

*

New York City Mayor Bloomberg, announced an

*

Polls have Senator Obama ahead of Senator McCain by one point, another poll has Mr. McCain up by five points over Mr. Obama. It has been my theory that the polls are not taking into consideration, those young people and those who do not use land line phones, and are not contacted by the pollsters. This would effectively give Obama a five to seven point lead over McCain, with a Bradley effect of a minus two points. Bradley was the black candidate running in California with people telling the pollsters they would vote for him, and at the booth did not. Total it up and Obama is at least five points ahead of McCain, at any given point in time. A five point difference on election day is a landslide, according to a renown pollster. I also think that Obama's choice for Vice-President will be announced on Thursday morning. Possibly it will be Senator Joe Biden, according to reports, but it would be great if he shocked everyone and picked General Colin Powell. Could the Universe handle that combination? I think that would be good-bye John McCain. Just a thought ;o)!

Senator McCain is to set to make his announcement, on his seventy second birthday, which is August 29. His possible picks for Vice-President include, Governor Charlie Christ, of Florida, former Governor Mitt Romney, of Massachuetts, and former Governor Tom Ridge, of Pennsylvania.

*

At a forum on religious values, entited the Saddleback Forun, Saturday, hosted by Reverend Rick Warren, who wrote,"The Purpose Driven Life" a best seller, Senator Obama and Senator McCain answered questions presented by the Reverend. Senator Obama went first, Senator McCain was supposed to be in a sound proof room of sorts, it turns out that Senator McCain was riding in a motorcade as Senator Obama was speaking, and could have had access to some of the questions, as he rode to the church where the forum was being held. On Sunday's Meet the Press, Andrea Mitchell, reported the story of McCain not being hidden away. The McCain camp, is now requesting a meeting with NBC, to protest what Mitchell reported on Sunday. Imagine that, a future potential president protesting reports from the press. Would that be suppress the press, as in Contitutional amendment freedom of speech by the press? Wow! Just a little something to think about, as Mr. McCain is always speaking of country first, does that include the constitution of the country as well?

Russian and Georgia signed the cease fire agreement. Russia promised to withdraw troops from Georgia while reportedly still digging in on Georgia soil. Today's report is that the Russians are pulling out their troops, whether or not it will constitute a full withdrawal, we will have to see. The devastation has already been accomplished, in a very brutal way. At least one-hundred and fifty thousand people have been displaced, no count on the number killed. There is a new dynamic on the ground, the genie is out of the bottle, and a new face of Russia has been revealed. It does appear, that although Mr. Putin is the Prime Minister, it seems clear that he is the puppetmaster, and that only leaves the puppet, in charge.

Senator Hillary Clinton has bulldozed her way into Senator Obama, agreeing to let her name be placed into the nomination for President, at the Democratic Convention. Not that otheres have not been placed into nomination in the U. S. political race, but the Clinton's have this attitude that she should be the nominee, and I am not one to trust these people. When former President Bill Clinton, had Michael Dukasis and Jerry Brown as opponents at their convention, in 1992, they wanted the two to give up their delegates first, before they would allow the two to speak at the convention. Dukasis did, Jerry Brown being the naughty one, did not. So now the Clintons are showing what is good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander. Senator Clinton has promised that there will not be a "power grab" at the convention, what for, she and her husband have already done enough damage to Bambi. But if his speech is going to be as dynamic as anticipated, the Clintons will be forgotten by the end of Thursday night at the convention. Fingers crossed over here.

Speaking of naughty and not very nice, actually downright brutal, Russia is still moving tanks into Georgia, and dropping cluster bombs into residential neighborhoods in parts of Georgia, according to reports. The city of South Ossitia is devastated, with the U. N. reporting that there are estimates of five thousand Russian troops in Georgia.
The Russians have taken over the Port of Poti and the city of Gori. But according to reports, two enclaves were not enough and the tanks moved into Georgia proper. The Russian Government dismantled all of the Georgian websites with cyber terrorism, they have since been restored. Some one-hundred and fifteen thousand people have reportedly been displaced, water and food are in short supply. The United States has begun sending humanitarian aid to the region. Analysts say that Russia had planned this for a long time, as they do not want this area to be pro-American or to join up with NATO. So they waited until the U. S. was totally engrossed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and until Georgia was provoked enought to ake the bait, being stirred up by Russia, and then Russia struck. Latest statement from the Russians is that they want the president of Georgia to step down, Secretary of Defense Gates says he sees no reason why we would need military force against Russia. The other point is, where would we get the troops. My fear is that troops will be needed to stop the aggression by Russia, but who will send them. The United States had warned Georgia's Government not to be baited by Russia, evidently Georgis did not listen. Russia has weakened the American backed Government of Georgia, and because the U. S. is so stretched out in other conflicts, Russia is not afraid of the consequences of its actions. One-third of Georgia is now under Russian control, it is said. Milhail Gorbachev, spoke on Larry King's show on CNN, backing Russian actions, and saying we are in fear of going back, in essence, to the days of the Cold War period, if we are not careful.

Michael Phelps continues his quest for eight Gold medals, he goes for his sixth one today. The Russians are supposedly leaving Gori, as the Georgian police take over. Five bomb explosions were heard today. Three more Russian tanks rolled into the area, but Russia says, the tanks are helping to clean up the area. How do tanks clean up an area? Secretary Condolezza Rice will be traveling to France to meet with President Sarkosky, who brokered the truce. Secretary Rice will then travel to Georgia in a show of U. S. support. She had previously stated that Russia cannot act as it did in 1968, threaten it's neighbors, invade and occupy a country, overthrow a Government and expect to get away with it. Now those are interesting words, going back to 2002, if I remember correctly.Where people were talking about mushroom clouds, and nuclear weapons that did not exist in Iraq. Do as I say, not as I do. Hmmmm!
Thirty thousand people have been displaced, hundreds of thousands killed, no one knows the actual number. There are food and water shortages. The U. What's Going On?

by mornin77 @ 2008-08-12 - 05:54:29

There appears to be a push by the Russians to
invade and take over Georgia, not only the two smaller breakaway provinces that Georgia and Russia are fighting about. President Bush reportedly spoke to former President Putin about the situation, at the Olympics, and Putin told him that Russia was his territory and it was no one else's business, in essence. The Russian attacks have escalated, even though the Georgian Government, signed on to a cease fire agreement, and withdrew their troops. About one thousand Georgian troops who were stationed in Iraq, are being flown back to Georgia, by the U. S. Government. here's hoping that the Russian Government does not shoot down the U. S. plane and starts something no one wants to see happen.

Pakistan's President Musharraf, is being threatened with impeachment, if he does not step down. He reportedly said he would not resign. The resolution for impeachment is supposedly being drawn up and if the President does not resign, he will be impeached. The Parliment could be disbanned by the President, and the military could reinstate him as Head of the military, which is the force that is actually in control of the country, according to sources familiar with the country.

Iran is going ahead with its program to produce nuclear power, supposedly for electricity, for Iran. The country rejected the U. N. deadline to cease production.

The Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, has so far won two Gold medals, one individually and one with the team in a relay. China leads in total medal count with the U. S. in second place.

Former Senator John Edwards, he of past running for President of the U. S. fame, confessed to having an extra-marital affair with a video-grapher, who worked for his campaign for a while. She has given birth to a child, who Mr. Edwards says is not his, and he is willing to have a paternity test done to prove it, but it seems the mother is not interested in knowing who the father is, as she is not going to co-operate with the authorities or anyone else who wants to know.
Trust that the Enquirer, which broke the story,
will obtain a swatch of the babys hair, and
DNA from a glass that John Edwards leaves behind, with his "love lips" (as his mistress says she called him) imprint, to test and see if the child really is his, which everyone already have assumed, is the case.
My question is, he said he told his wife about the affair, then why did she allow him to run for president, knowing there was a bombshell waiting out there to explode, unless she (his wife), wanted this to be exposed to ruin his political career for life? Just asking?

A woman who had killed her fiancee, after he did something very stupid, but I am sure not worthy of being killed over, called up to a radio station, and confessed to killing him after ten years. She gave all the details, the host said to her, you know we have an 800 number, that you call in on, but we do have a record of your number, you could be charged with the crime. She said, well, people make things up all the time and quickly hung up. The station reported the incident, supplied the police with the tape, I am sure, as there is no statute of limitations on murder. The woman is now being questioned by the authorities. People still shock the heck out of me.

Here and There

by mornin77 @ 2008-08-06 - 18:08:29

Having trouble falling asleep? Experts say both sides of the brain have to be stimulated. So start to count backwards by three from five hundred, should be asleep before you complete the task. Try it.

Experiencing pain from arthritis, try Alfalfa, reduces inflammation and joint pain.

Ladies, to extend the life of your pantyhose, put them in the freezer,
for a few days, then thaw out. This will reduce the runs for a longer period of time.

Removing the plugs of all appliances, not in use, from the sockets, will save you money on your electric bill. The appliances, though not in use, siphon electricity, as phantom users, and still use up energy, thereby costing you money that you could save.

Free note paper: Take all the business envelopes you receive in the mail, open them up on both sides, use the inside as note paper

Movin' On

by mornin77 @ 2008-08-05 - 17:34:15

Oh that whistling wind,
Keeps blowing through my hair,
My ear takes in the sound of change,
There is movement afoot,
So I cannot stay here,
The call is too strong,
For my resistence is weak.
My mind has already shifted,
Even as my feet stay in place.
It's time to put in motion,
A very changing scene,
Where the river of life is flowing,
And we must follow our course,
Perhaps, I'll see you there?

Multi-faceted Points of Possible Interest?

by mornin77 @ 2008-08-04 - 07:17:44

In the United States, the sub-prime mortage debacle has affected 48 of the 50 states. There are 2.2 million empty homes, in the U. S. for sale as a result of this crisis, and counting. Some say it will go on until at least 2010.
Some people caught in the awful problem, have taken to burning their homes. Whether the insurance will cover such a situation is doubtful, or whether it would relieve the liability is another question. It has been reported that 400 homes per day are being forclosed upon. Wide spread depression is quite apparent for the people involved. Shouldn't someone be held accountable for all of this ridiculous, unnecessary, greed?

There has been a bill passed
by Congress, and signed by the president, to give assistance to some 400 thousand home owners, from the Federal Goverment.
When it will take effect is not quite known, but it will help some homeowners, It will also supply funds to make sure that Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, will not collaspe.

Senator Obama challenged Senator McCain, to a duel over taxes. Senator Obama has stated that he is related to Wild Bill Hickok, who is a distant cousin. Someone noted that Vice President Dick Cheney is
also a distant cousin of Senator Obama. So we are left to wonder, which genes will show up at the duel. Remember the hunting trip, where Mr. Cheney shot his friend in the face, by accident, evidently thinking he was a quail.

Because of Senator McCain's very disparaging ad, comparing Senator Obama to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, and one ad depicting Senator Obama as Moses, parting the water, as "The One", the Obama campaign, received 100,000 donations. If the donations, are around the average $100 level, that they have been receiving, that's a cool one million dollars, without solicitation. Keep up the good work, Senator McCain, blow your horn louder.

Another three banks were closed in the U. S., recently, making that a total of seven closures this year.

Of U. S. Political Interest

by mornin77 @ 2008-08-01 - 21:30:06

Senator Ted Stevens pleaded not guilty to seven counts of criminal behavior, including bribery, at his arraignment, in court. His attorney, requested that his trial be moved to Alaska from Washington, D. C., the Judge did not appear to be inclined to grant that motion. Senator Stevens' trial is set to begin on September 24th of this year.

****

Reporter David Ignatius,of the Washington Post, wrote a column, about the internal struggle, that Senator John Mccain is going through, with his very negative campaign, where they have decided that the only way to win the election, is to bring down Senator Obama, with misleading and baseless ads.

****

Polls show the Senator Obama leads by the following on these specific issues:
Jobs +19
Economy +11
Gas Prices =21
Senator McCain leads on:
Iraq +7

Oh the Olympics

by mornin77 @ 2008-08-01 - 04:50:25

China is moving as quickly,
as possible, to get ready for the Olympics, which begins 8.8.08. They have implemented a driving system of odd and even every other week. Those with odd license
plates, drive one week, those with even drive the next. they are trying to reduce the terrible pollution which is clouding the skies above China. They were able to remove the strange abundance of algae, which appeared out of nowhere on the river where the boat races were to take place. Many of the Chinese people, are opening
their homes uo to tourists, for fifty to eighty dollars per night. Should be a spectacular event, hopefully some of the human rights issues will be resolved, as a result of some changes of minds and hearts, as a result of the coming together of so many countries. Iraq, which was banned, because of a disbanding of the original, Iraq Olympic committee, has now been allowed to send four althletes to the event, by agreeing to certain requests by the International Committee.
Be sure to take your face masks, if you are going to attend.
