Senator Hillary Clinton has bulldozed her way into Senator Obama, agreeing to let her name be placed into the nomination for President, at the Democratic Convention. Not that otheres have not been placed into nomination in the U. S. political race, but the Clinton's have this attitude that she should be the nominee, and I am not one to trust these people. When former President Bill Clinton, had Michael Dukasis and Jerry Brown as opponents at their convention, in 1992, they wanted the two to give up their delegates first, before they would allow the two to speak at the convention. Dukasis did, Jerry Brown being the naughty one, did not. So now the Clintons are showing what is good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander. Senator Clinton has promised that there will not be a "power grab" at the convention, what for, she and her husband have already done enough damage to Bambi. But if his speech is going to be as dynamic as anticipated, the Clintons will be forgotten by the end of Thursday night at the convention. Fingers crossed over here.

Speaking of naughty and not very nice, actually downright brutal, Russia is still moving tanks into Georgia, and dropping cluster bombs into residential neighborhoods in parts of Georgia, according to reports. The city of South Ossitia is devastated, with the U. N. reporting that there are estimates of five thousand Russian troops in Georgia.
The Russians have taken over the Port of Poti and the city of Gori. But according to reports, two enclaves were not enough and the tanks moved into Georgia proper. The Russian Government dismantled all of the Georgian websites with cyber terrorism, they have since been restored. Some one-hundred and fifteen thousand people have reportedly been displaced, water and food are in short supply. The United States has begun sending humanitarian aid to the region. Analysts say that Russia had planned this for a long time, as they do not want this area to be pro-American or to join up with NATO. So they waited until the U. S. was totally engrossed in Iraq and Afghanistan, and until Georgia was provoked enought to ake the bait, being stirred up by Russia, and then Russia struck. Latest statement from the Russians is that they want the president of Georgia to step down, Secretary of Defense Gates says he sees no reason why we would need military force against Russia. The other point is, where would we get the troops. My fear is that troops will be needed to stop the aggression by Russia, but who will send them. The United States had warned Georgia's Government not to be baited by Russia, evidently Georgis did not listen. Russia has weakened the American backed Government of Georgia, and because the U. S. is so stretched out in other conflicts, Russia is not afraid of the consequences of its actions. One-third of Georgia is now under Russian control, it is said. Milhail Gorbachev, spoke on Larry King's show on CNN, backing Russian actions, and saying we are in fear of going back, in essence, to the days of the Cold War period, if we are not careful.
