All's well that ends well. I guess. During the General Election, Democratic Senator, Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, choose to support his good buddy, Republican John McCain, for President. Great, your choice, Mr. Lieberman. Lobbing names like socialist and other choice titles, like communist and terrorist, by association, at Senator Obama during the race.
Nice words for a supposed Democratic leaning Senator. Now all of that would have been a very good tactic, if, if, Senator McCain had been elected, but hold on, the President-elect, is now Barack Obama. Now what? With hat in hand, so to speak, Senator Lieberman, strolls on back to Washington, D. C., for a meeting with the leader of the Senate, Harry Ried, who wants Joe Lieberman, to take a hike. Hit the road Jack! Reportedly, Senator Reid told Mr. Lieberman, that he could still caucus with the Democrats, if he choose to, but they were going to strip him of his Chairmanship of the Home Land Security Committee. No joke. So Senator Lieberman reportedly said, not acceptable. There will be a meeting of the Democratic caucus, with a secret ballot vote, to determine if Mr. Lieberman will continue as Chairman. There are a lot of Senators, like Chris Dodd, and others who want him to continue in his position, President-elect Obama even offered an olive branch, suggesting to Senator Reid, that Lieberman be allowed to continue. The Republicans are looking to pull him over to their side, leaving the Dems with one less vote, if Mr. Lieberman, moves to the other side. Connecticut voters will have an interesting scenario on their hands, come next election. Stay tuned.
