This is a delicate time for both India and Pakistan. After the end of the horrific seige, fingers are being pointed at rogue elements of the Pakistani Intelligence arm. Some are saying that Pakistan has not done enough to control those elements, and if evidence is found that clearly shows, that this is the case and Pakistan people committed this atrocity, it will be hard to for India to maintain civil relations with Pakistan. The reason these things are being said about Pakistan, is that the sole terrorist who was captured, contrary to early reports of four being captured, was from Pakistan. He said, again reportedly, that he was trained in Pakistan, on Pakistan soil, by Pakistan terrorists. The young man also said that two of their group members, came to Pakistan, gathered information on their targets, and the group of trained terrorosts, were given Goggle maps, and told to follow the maps to find the places. The Pakistan Government is telling the Indian Government, that they will do whatever it takes to find those responsible, if indeed they came from Pakistan. The Chief of Intelligence for Pakistan, is traveling to India to assist with the investigation, as well as a team from the United States and Britain. One analyst reported that time is running out, as President-Elect Obama is going to try to keep the relationship between the two countries, on an even keel, but there is only about two months time to shore up these, tattered feelings, as India might want some sort of response to this attack, not necessarily militant, but some sort of action to inform Pakistan, that it must do more to control the terrorist within its borders, or they will be called on it.
The investigation will be on-going. There were reports that some Indian police, in the rescue effort, were killed while wearing bullet proof vests, and were ill-equipped to deal with the attack. In addition, reportedly, it took three hours for the fire truck to get to the scene of the fire at the Taj Hotel.
It is obvious, Ratan Tata, the owner of the Taj Hotel said, in an interview, that India needs a Crisis Management Team, well trained and equipped, to deal with these types of situations.
