The Illinois Attorney General is threatening to to the State Supreme Court, to have Governor Blogojevich, of Illinois, declared unfit the hold office, if he doesn't resign soon or get impeached by the Legislature. She reportedly said, that she will wait a little while. The Governor is not listening, he may use his resignation as leverage for leniency. There have been three former Governors of Illinois, both Democrat and Republican, who have gone to jail.

President-elect, Barack Obama, announced formally, his
Secretary of Health and Human Services, the individual will also be the White House's emissary for the reform of health
care. Former Senator Tom Daschle, an expert on health care policy will be that person, reform and availability of health care to all, will be his top priority. The Deputy Director will be Doctor Jeanne Lambrew, a policy and budget expert on health care for children, also a research specialist on Medicare.

Mr. Obama said in reference to the ongoing scandal in Illinois, that neither he nor any of his staff had spoken to the Governor about the vacant senate seat. He will be providing the public with information regarding the conversations his staff, had with the Governor of Illinois. He again called for the Governor to step down, saying, he could not at this time govern effectively.

The Democrats and Republicans, met on Wednesday evening, and worked out a tentative deal for the auto bailout plan. The
auto companies will seek a 2/3's reduction in debt obligation from their creditors, and a reduction in contract obligations from the employees and union. Some of the Republicans objecting to the bailout deal, are said to have Nissan, BMW, Honda and Toyota auto plants in their states. No self interest there?

Wall Street bonuses, will be cut by 50% this year to 2002 levels.
