The President of the United States, made a surprise visit to Iraq. While there, at a news conference with the President of Iraq, a news reporter from iraq, was in the audience, and while the news conference was going on, the reporter threw both his shoes directly at President Bush, who ducked both times, and avoided being clobbered by the size ten shoes. The Secret Service agents who were nearby, were unable to stop the man, from throwing his shoes. The reporter also said, reportedly, "here is a farewell gift from the Iraqis, this is a farewell kiss, you dog". The reporter was immediately tackled to the ground and taken into custody by the Iraqi police. He is being held, not on charges of throwing the shoes at the U. S. President, but for throwing the shoes in the direction of the Iraqi President. The reporter's friends said that he had been detained and imprisoned for a while by the U. S. troops, and he had lost family members during the turmoil in Iraq. They think he snapped, they said he was usually calm and polite. Here's my question, what good were the Secret Service? All the agents that were there, inside that room to guard the President should be fired, or at least suspended. The reaction time was ridiculous, the shoes could have been mini bombs, or filled with acid, that would spill out, once they hit their target. This was scary, the President could have been harmed, while every one was looking, unaware until it was over, what had happened. What a sight. There were protesters in the streets of Sadr City, who wanted the reporter released immediately, and who were calling him a hero, also saying that the President deserved the shoes being thrown at him. It is reported that when an Iraqi throws a dirty shoe at you, it is the ultimate insult. Well, if the shoes had been thrown while Saddam Hussien was still in charge, the reporter would have been put to death within twenty-four hours. The reporter should be glad for the change, maybe?
