At approximately 12:05 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2009, the 44th President of the United States was sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the honorable John Roberts. Vice-President Joseph Biden had been sworn in a bit earlier by Justice Stevens. There were an estimated two million people in attendance for the inauguration of the first African-American
man to become the President of the United States. They came from all over the country, and from many places outside of the country. The D. C. police said there were no arrests at all during the day. Former President George Bush amd Mrs. Bush, left by helicopter to go to Andrews Air Force base, to then travel to Texas for a bar-b-que.

At a luncheon after the swearing in service, Senator Ted kennedy had a seizure and have to be taken to the hospital. The report was later, that he was talking, and was in good spirits. Senator Robert Byrd became a little physically uncomfortable after seeing Senator Kennedy being taken out of the luncheon.

The theme throughout the day echoed by President Obama, was we have to rebuild American, reclaim our great heritage, he said to those who open their clenched fist, we will extend a hand, if not and you oppose our country, we will defeat you. To the Muslim world he said "we seek a new way forward". He will meet with the Joint Chief's ofStaff to discuss military matters. First order of business, reported to be the closing of Guantanamo Bay, and ordering the American troops in Iraq be brought home in sixteen months, or when it is deemed feasibly possible.

President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama visited ten inauguration balls, and danced to "At Last" their favorite song.

The news reported tonight, was that the trials related to war crimes, are being suspended until the President of the United States gives the prosecutors guidance.

SEC's Christopher Cox resigned leaving the agency to the new SEC Commissioner Mary Schapiro, to try to restore its clout.
