The announced victory of Mahmund Ahmadinejad, as President of Iran. has provoked thousands of young people, women and upper class Iranians, to take to the streets of Iran in protest of the election results. Mr. Ahmadinejad reportedly won the election by a margin of 63% TO 34% to his nearest rival. The protesters, in the streets since Friday's election results were announced, are claiming the election was stolen. There was a report that? Ahmadinejad proclaimed his victory, his rival.pro-reform candidate Mousavi, also proclaimed his. The protests got worse, some of them threw rocks, the police opened fire in one instance reportedly killing one person and wounding others. The Supreme Leader, announced that there will be an investigation into the allegations of fraud in the election. The people are making a statement in Iran, hopefully, although doubtful that the "election" results will change but perhaps, more thoughtful dialogue will take place between Iran and the rest of the world. Germany, France and Great Britain have expressed concern over the election results. Th United States is trying to take a wait and see attitude, but not happy with the violence within the protest ranks.
