The long-standing sidekick of Johnny Carson, on the "Tonight Show", has passed away. Ed McMahon was partnered with Carson for 40 years, starting out on the show "Who do You Trust?" They then moved on together to the "Tonight Show", which ran for many years with the two of them. Mr. McMahon had been suffering, reportedly from cancer, he died just after midnight, in Los Angeles at the Ronald Reagan Medical Center.

There has been an undeclared state of martial law in Iran by the government. The protesters have been warned that they will face serious consequences if they continue to rally. It is reported that the protesters know they cannot win a battle in the streets, so they are seeking advice on tactical strategy, from people who know how to organize. They do not want U. S help,the change will take months, perhaps years. The Guardian Council has announced that a review showed there was no major fraud in the election, and it will not be annuled.
