Her coach became her tutor, a surrogate mother of sorts, her friends helped her try to remember, Kayla had to relearn everything, she says she still gets confused a lot, she has not regained her memory, but is making new memories. Doctors say this is an exceptional case and that there are not many times in history where a person loses their complete memory from hitting their head. Kayla has said she wants to eventually become a physical therapist. She continues with her life as the new Kayla, not knowing who the old Kayla really was.
