Big surprise fro the Alaskan Governor, on Friday, with a rambling press conference, Governor Sarah Palin shocked a lot of Republicans and Democrats by stepping down from the position of Governor of Alaska. She will be turning over the governorship to her Lt. Governor Sean Parnell, who is said to be a strong Palin supporter. No one seems to be able to determine just why she is quitting in mid-term, if she has aspirations to run for the Republican nomination for president in 2012. As many states are suffering budget deficits, and economic constrictions from the recession, so is the state of Alaska. Many felt the best thing she could done would be to improve the state of affairs in Alaska and complete her term in office as governor. Ed Rollins, a Republican strategist, said this was the worst thing she could have done. Others think she is freeing herself up to write her seven figure book, raise money for the GOP, garnering favors for the future and going on the speaking circuit to raise her profile, for whatever she plans to do in the future. We feel like some others do, that there is another shoe to drop, it seems a little like a forced situation, with an implied threat of prosecution of some sort, could be wrong, but? Governor Palin will reportedly be leaving at the end of the month.
