Mr. Cronkite described the Vietnam war as "un-winnable". Mr. Cronkite, it is reported died, after years of suffering from cerebral vascular disease. May his faimly and friends be comforted, in their time of grief.

Frank McCourt, 78, author of Angela's Ashes, has meningitis and is not expected to survive. According to his brother, Malachy, his facilities are shutting down. Reportedly he was being treated for melanona, the deadliest for of skin cancer, and was doing well, then developed the meningitis.

Today Governor Mark Sanford's Communications Director resigned for personal reasons.
