Then we go over to C Street in Washington, D. C., to a house, where Republicans gather and some live. It is a type of mission, where the men have prayer service, and read the Bible. The problem seems to be
that many of the men have been outed in recent weeks as being involved in adulterous affairs. Those include Senator John Ensign, Governor Mark Sanford, and former Republican Representative Chip Pickering, who supposedly took care of his business with his mistress in the house itself. His wife made this known in a lawsuit in divorce proceedings, when she sued her husband's mistress for destroying her marriage and her husband's career. The house is listed as a church and is tax-exempt. The men, in a book called "The Family" are described as a group who talk to each other, and absolve each other
of whatever sin or transgression they find themselves embroiled in.
Reportedly one Senator told Senator Ensign that he should pay his mistress the money that she was paid. They believe in strict privacy, that the public does not exist within their circle. A total secret sect operating on C Street and the house just happens to be red.
Today Governor Mark Sanford's Communications Director resigned for personal reasons.
There is reportedly an investigation into the travel expenses paid by Governor Sanford, possibly from state funds.
Two of the House panels reviewing the Health Care bill, passed their
portion of the bill. Three more must be completed.
Republican Senators Lugar, Snowe and Martinez are reportedly going to vote for Judge Sotomayor's confirmation.
There was a very violent bombing in Jakarta, Indonesia. Two western hotels, Marriott and the Ritz-Carlton were both bombed. Nine people were killed and so far reportedly 50 people were injured.
