The one man, Abdul Al Megrahi, who was convicted and jailed for the Lockerbie bombing of Pan Am flight 103, was given a pardon and set free today for "compassionate reasons". The man is suffering from terminal cancer and reportedly has less than three months to live. He had served eight years in jail for his crime. The personal airplane of the President of Libya flew the man from Scotland to Libya, where he received a hero's welcome. Some were reportedly under the belief that England had made a deal with Libya to receive ore of their oil in exchange for the release of the prisoner from the Scottish prison. President Obama said today that it was a mistake, that the man was released that the man should be placed under house arrest in Libya.
